Alessandro Rigamonti (b. 1986, Cantù) is a designer and multidisciplinary practitioner whose work traverses architecture, design, and experiential art. Based in Milan, he develops projects that cultivate deep conceptual inquiry and formal precision, positioning design as a tool for shaping meaningful human experience.
During his studies at the Politecnico di Milano, Aleriga collaborated with architect and designer Italo Rota on major exhibition projects, including Arts & Foods (curated by Germano Celant) and Kitchens & Invaders for Expo 2015, both presented at the Triennale di Milano. These early experiences anchored his interest in the narrative potential of spatial and exhibition design.
In 2019 he founded QDS.studio, a multidisciplinary design practice engaged in architecture, exhibitions, and interior environments for residential, cultural, and commercial contexts. Across scales and media, Aleriga’s work is defined by a research-driven methodology that aligns conceptual rigor with a refined material and spatial language.
about
philosophy
His design philosophy foregrounds contextual responsiveness and narrative coherence, where form is inseparable from meaning. Rather than adhering to a fixed aesthetic, Rigamonti pursues a genre-oriented approach that privileges thematic depth, relational dynamics, and phenomenological experience.
Alongside his architectural and spatial practice, Aleriga explores physical and digital art, experimenting with diverse techniques and systems to investigate the social, emotional, and perceptual dimensions of creative processes. His work seeks to articulate the inherent truth of material and perceptual phenomena, crafting experiences that resonate both poetically and intellectually.
